Suikogaiden Translation Project [06 Jul 2008|01:18pm]

This community is kind of dead, but I thought I should post this here, just in case... :D I'm putting together a team to translate and create an English patch for Suikogaiden. Our website is here: [http://www.freewebs.com/ramsus-kun/Suikogaiden/Home.htm] and anyone who's interested is welcome to join to forums, or if you can help out with anything (translating, translation-checking, proofreading, patching and so on) then you're welcome to join the team as well. <3
We're currently working on extracting the script from Suikogaiden 1 and once that's done, we'll be able to begin translating. XD May take us years, but we'll get it done! XD

Suikogaiden [07 Jan 2007|05:04pm]

Hi Everyone!

I went to Ohayocon this weekend and my best friend snagged a copy of Suikogaiden 1 and 2.

It's awesome just to see the graphics and hear the music, but we can't translate the Japanese.

Does anyone out there know of a full translation of the games?

Please let me know if you have any info. It'd be greatly appreciated!! I'm sure people have asked for translations before, but maybe knowing that there are a bunch of us out there could be a good thing?

Thanks and much Suiko love!

~ Kimi

Many of you probably already check suikosource; but for those that don't, my translated flowcharts are up:

秘密 人気 [22 Oct 2005|03:47am]

Does anyone know what exactly the 秘密(secret) and 人気(popularity) ratings do? Flowcharts in Japanese guides list it, along with LP. I'm sure we all know what LP is, it's that bar in the bottom right that goes up to 10. Certain choices require LP. And accumulating 10LP and using them at a certain point unlocks a secret chapter, IIRC. But what exactly do 秘密 and 人気 ratings do?

Has anyone found ROMs, and translation patches, for the Suikogaiden games?

I have a terrible need to find out what happened to Miklotov and Camus.

Gaiden LJs pretty much officially picked up again, for anyone who cares.

... yes, Julie and I ARE going to continue the Gaiden LJs again soon.

We're just, uh, lazy. Yep.

Why is it that all pretty boys suddenly get ten times hotter as soon as they become evil?

Question [30 Sep 2003|11:36pm]

Hello, fellow Suikoden and Suikogaiden fans. I just had a simple question, but I don't know if there's an answer to it.

Is there anywhere on the internet that offers downloads of Suikogaiden music? I was thinking that it's probably most likely on a .jp site, but I really don't know. I've looked and haven't found much. Thank a lot!

Aristocrats make no sense! [22 Aug 2003|03:15pm]

I was thinking yesterday about a couple things. I'm not sure if they're more questions I want to ask that have answers, or if they're something for speculation. But here goes.

So Nash is the only Latkje male heir, and the Latkjes are the most influential family in the People's Party. Why did his father send him off to the Howling Voice Guild when there was a chance he would get killed during the training, thus ending the Latkje line? Is it tradition for the males in this family to be in the HVG at some point in their lives? If it is tradition I can see why, but otherwise, I just can't. Does his early departure from the guild have anything to do with this fact?

I think I should play Gaiden 2, which probably explains all this stuff. But I'm not in the mood yet.

EDIT RE: My below comment - Since I can't read Japanese, the summary is all I have when I play, anyway. I've been trying to get as much info on Harmonian politics as I can, and how the Latkjes fit into all that, but I'm still not quite sure of the above. Anyone else have more insight on this?

Public Service Announcement [06 Aug 2003|09:50am]

This is a little late, but Imbrium is now our illustrious co-moderator. She also made the lovely Lena icon (and the Gangsta!Zaj icon, which she is going straight to hell for) that you see above. Bow and bring blood sacrifices to her feet.

Discussion 3.0 [06 Aug 2003|01:10am]

Zaj Quilos. How about him? Jowy Atreides Version II, man in dire need of therapy, really hot guy wielding phallic object, Zazie the Beast, all of the above...?

I thought it was kind of interesting how in Suikogaiden Nash was fighting to stop the revolutionary with a bone to pick with the corrupt government, unlike the games in the main series. Or maybe that's a whole 'nother topic. Whatever. Zaj. Discuss.

... yep.

Westerns rock my socks. [01 Aug 2003|06:33pm]

Anyone on my buddy list already know about my current writing project, but I'm posting about it anyway. I'm working on a Suikogaiden fic at the moment, a novelization modified to a western that occurs roughly in the 1870s. Basically, it's an Alternate Universe fic with some fantasy elements that follows the plot of the Gaidens. The central characters are of course Nash, Sierra, Sasarai, Yuuli, Lena, and Zaj. Clive and Elza are also prominent.

Geddoe, Yuber, Wang, the Blights, and some others may make appearances. Comments or suggestions on the subject matter are greatly appreciated.

(And no, Nash is not a cowboy. He and Lena are bounty hunters. XD)

Well, how's this? [30 Jul 2003|12:00am]

A long ways back (okay, a few months) someone posted this on a Suikoden message board. A lot of people recently have talked about it and said it existed, but nobody was able to provide a link. But I just so happened to have come across my copy that I saved back when, and I've decided to post it, since this is a Suikogaiden community.

Supposedly, more of this thing exists somewhere, but this is all there was when I grabbed it. One or two basic notes. I have no idea how accurate this translation is. And it's not GREAT, but it's better than nothing. Also, I've taken the thing and fixed it up. It used to be formatted strangely (all in one paragraph, and with no capital letters) and was almost unreadable. I didn't change the words, however. I wanted that to remain the same.

Unfortunately, I also can't give credit to who translated it.

The first half or so of Suikogaiden Chapter 1 - translatedCollapse )

More discussion [29 Jul 2003|12:43pm]

Dude, some of you guys need to start posting topics other than me. *g*

Anyway: Suikoden III Nash versus Suikogaiden Nash. How's the boy changed over fifteen years? How has he stayed the same? What was your initial reaction to seeing Suikoden III Nash and seeing how he acted?

... yeah, I suck. I'm trying to keep the place alive, dammit!

Drabbles [26 Jul 2003|04:44pm]

Wrote a few Suikogaiden/Nash-related drabbles (which are hundred-word stories, and are very fun to make). So, thought I would share.

I figured I'd boost the member count up to eleven, since I'm so kind and generous like that.

In any case, I followed aurons_baby, and kind of nash_latkje, over into this community. I just thought I'd make my presence known, since I'm so desperate for attention and whatnot. I hope I can be a somewhat contributing member of the community. And if I'm not, I'm sure everyone will manage.

Oh, and I apologize for my sarcastic and seemingly bitter sense of humor in advance.

So, quick question out of curiosity for our members:

Who's your favorite Gaiden-centric character who isn't Nash? :P

(Yeah, choices are pretty limited. You've got Yuuli, Lena, Zaj, Rean... uh... Dominguez...)
